Usage Metrics and Reading Duration: The platform records timestamps corresponding to when your authenticated session accesses particular segments or chapters of a book. This automated timestamping is used exclusively to measure reading engagement, calculate the duration spent on specific texts, and aggregate research analytics.

Usage of cookies

This website utilizes strictly necessary functional cookies to provide a seamless reading experience and maintain secure user authentication.

Purpose: When you log in, our system places an encrypted cookie on your device containing a temporary user identifier and an authentication token. This cookie allows our server to recognize your active session as you navigate between different chapters or pages of a book without requiring you to re-authenticate constantly.

Duration: Authentication cookies automatically expire and are deleted exactly 48 hours (two days) after issuance, at which point a new secure email verification code will be required to access the reading materials.

Because these cookies are strictly required for basic platform functionality and security, they are enabled automatically upon login. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioral tracking, or third-party marketing purposes.

Duration of data storage and erasure rights

Self-Service Deletion: Upon authenticating your session via email, you have the right and ability to instantly delete all reading history and account metrics associated with your email address directly through the website dashboard.

Manual Deletion Requests: If you no longer have active access to your registered email address, you may manually request the permanent deletion of your data by contacting us at info@scrollreading.com. Following a secure review to verify your identity and confirm that the associated email is inactive or inaccessible, we will permanently purge the data from our servers.
